How do you verify pubs?

Every pub goes through checks against multiple sources — the venue's own website, Google Places, social media, and tourism listings. Pubs are only added when there's clear evidence they're a genuine Irish pub. Owners can confirm their listing directly via the suggest-an-edit link on any pub page.

What makes a pub “Irish” enough to be on Craic Map?

Real Irish character — Irish ownership or strong Irish heritage, Guinness on tap, a traditional interior, GAA on the screens, live trad music or sessions, and authentic pub food. A pub named “O'Brien's” alone isn't enough; there has to be substance behind it.

How do I add my pub?

Tap “Submit a Bar” on the homepage, type the pub name into the search box (powered by Google Places, so most pubs come up instantly), and tap submit — about 10 seconds. We verify the details and add it to the directory shortly after. You can also suggest edits to existing listings from any pub page.

Can I plan a pub crawl?

Yes — tap the “What's the Craic” button on any page and ask the AI to plan one. It uses our database and real walking distances to build a tight route, finishing with a “Start Pub Crawl” button that opens directions in Google Maps.
